Rolf Mueller was a patient at Sacred Heart.

Rolf only speaks German, so J.D. was initially unable to tell him that his prognosis was not good. When his brother Hermann Mueller visited him, J.D. asked him to translate but Hermann lied and told Rolf that he was going to be ok. When J.D. found out that Elliot speaks fluent German, he realized Hermann's lie. He immediately learned that Rolf was getting better, but he decided to tell Rolf the original prognosis because it was his job. (My Interpretation)
