As a producer, Rich has produced episodes of the series Tall Hopes, Head of the Class, The Jim Stafford Show, and The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour. He has also produced the TV films Father O Father, An Evening with John Denver, and Dinah Shore: In Search of the Ideal Man. He won an Emmy for his work on An Evening with John Denver. He has written episodes of the television series Tall Hopes, Head of the Class, O.K. Crackerby!, A Summer Night, and The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour. He has also written the screenplays of the films Back to School, Young Doctors in Love, ...All the Marbles, Serial, North Dallas Forty, Father O Father, and Harper Valley, U.S.A..
