[edit] Synopsis

Turk and Carla enjoy having the apartment to themselves

After seventeen dates, Kylie is still wanting to take things slow and she has not yet allowed J.D. to have sex with her, and when J.D. tries to make his move to the bed (by using his three tactics: complaining that he is tired, then that it is cold and saying it is snuggle weather) but this does not work either. To make things worse, Carla asks J.D. to leave their apartment so she can have more romance with Turk. J.D. agrees, but takes with him what is his, starting with the cable box. Elliot is unable to have him, and Kylie still does not feel comfortable with him moving in - even if it is only temporary. However, J.D. is welcomed into Todd's house, but the downside is that he is forced to wear a banana hammock. Eventually, J.D. leaves and tries to find somewhere to stay; Ted still lives with his mom, Lonnie has three kids to look after, and Doug has moved out. After he tells Kylie all about these stories, she tells him how nice it is that he went to all this trouble to respect her boundaries, and lets him move in and sleep on her bed.

Nathan and Jack playing together

While this is occuring, Jordan accuses Dr. Cox of being competitive when he gets residents to clean his Porsche for when his friend from high-school, Ron, comes to visit. However, Ron completely out does him by arriving via helicopter to save him the 20 seconds he would have spent in traffic. The two of them are soon in conversation about their jobs and lives, trying to out do each other, while Jordan complains that they should stop competing and just have their kids come over to play with each other. However, when Ron brings his son, Nathan, round to play, that turns into a competition such as who can play with toys better and who can change a diaper the fastest. However, when Nathan's building-block creations are so symmetrical, Dr. Cox believes it may be autism. Before he tells Ron about it, he wants to spend more time with Nathan to confirm it, and offers to babysit him, but this just makes Ron suspicious. However, Ron allows him to do so and Dr. Cox finds the symptoms that confirm he has autism. Dr. Cox then finds the courage to tell Ron, who initially believes Dr. Cox is making it up so Jack is better than Nathan, but Dr. Cox confirms he isn't lying and gives a shocked Ron the details for a specialist.

Turk and Carla, meanwhile, are enjoying being alone and have sex in every room in the apartment - but they soon get bored. After sitting around with little to do, they invite Elliot over for company but she does not like gossiping like Carla used to do with J.D. and she does not want to play games with Turk like J.D. did. A short while later, Elliot leaves and the two of them admit they miss J.D. However, when J.D. returns to collect his toothbrush, neither of them can admit to it and tell him. However, the later look for him and find him at Kylie's house, just after J.D. was given permission to sleep on the bed, and they ask him to move back in with them and Kylie tells J.D. it is the right thing to do. However, when J.D. happily returns home, he comments on the fact that they couldn't last a week without him, but he suddenly realizes that isn't a good sign for their relationship.

  • Ken Jenkins, who plays Dr. Kelso, does not appear in this episode because his scene was cut from the episode.
  • Turk and Carla ask J.D. to move out, even though the apartment originally belonged to J.D.
