Kate Simmons is a patient at New Sacred Heart Hospital.

Kate Simmons was admitted to New Sacred Heart by Dr. Elliot Reid. She becomes her patient after Dr. Cox transfers her care over after Elliot mentions to him that Kate has low platelet count and Heparin was not a good choice of treatment. Later Dr. Reid orders a Bronchoscopy for Kate and Lucy Bennett spends the night with her after the procedure.
The next day Lucy is asked by Elliot to place a new IV for Kate. Lucy is nervous and shaky, Kate picks up on the fact Lucy was about to insert the needle without disinfecting the area. ("Our New Girl-Bro")
