Nelly complains to Carla that she needs to convince Dr. Cox, the new Chief of Medicine, to hire more nurses so they aren't working forced overtime. When Carla's efforts prove fruitless, Nelly gets upset at Carla and Elliot. Elliot later talks to her and some other nurses at dinner and explains that they shouldn't be mean to Carla just because they are in a lousy situation. Nelly and the other nurses get over their dispute and later tell Carla and Elliot goodnight when the leave, much to the surprise of Carla. ("My New Role")
