When Mrs. Winston found out that her son has leukemia from Dr. Cox, she was terribly upset. Her husband and her had decided to not tell Josh about his illness, and when Dr. Cox told Josh without their permission, they threatened legal action. They actually did not take any action when Josh told them that he knew he had a bad illness based on his mother's weird smile. ("My Growing Pains")
