When Mr. Zerbo was admitted to Sacred Heart, nobody could diagnose what was wrong with him. He was bumped from ward to ward and doctor to doctor. Dr. Kelso became worried that he might not write the hospital any more checks if he died or lingered for too long in the hospital, so he assigned him to J.D., who was busy with personal drama. After forgetting to take a closer look at Mr. Zerbo before rounds, he got better by just resting. ("My Overkill") Dr. Kelso was proud of J.D. for correctly diagnosing Mr. Zerbo with "drug fever".
