Eliza Coupe plays Denise Mahoney on Scrubs. She guest starred in ten episodes of Season Eight, and appeared in nine Scrubs: Interns webisodes. She was upgraded to the main cast for Season Nine.

Eliza graduated from the California Institute of the Arts and the University of California at Berkeley. In 2003, Eliza toured the country playing a soldier in an all-female version of "King Lear." In November 2005, her one-woman sketch show "The Patriots" premiered at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York and went on to win her the breakout performer award at Aspen's U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in March 2006. Eliza studied with the Groundlings.
In 2007, Eliza starred in her first film The Day the World Saved Shane Sawyer and soon after I Think I Love My Wife. She went on to appear in the short lived MTV series Short Circuitz and an episode of The Flight of the Conchords and Unhitched. Eliza may be best known for her role of GAYLOR in the HBO series 12 Miles of Bad Road and her multi-episode arc in Samantha Who?.
