Aziz was born and raised in South Carolina. After graduating high school from the South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics, Aziz went to the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University and graduated in 2004 with a degree in marketing. While a student, Aziz started performing standup comedy. Aziz was included in Rolling Stone's "Hot Standup" category of their "Hot List", and won the Jury Award for Best Standup at HBO's U.S. Comedy Arts Festival.
Aziz's first on camera acting role was in the series Uncle Morty's Dub Shack. Since then, Aziz has appeared in the films School for Scoundrels,The Rocker, I Love You, Man, Observe and Report, and Funny People. He can also be seen in episode of the television series The Flight of the Conchords and Worst Week. Aziz is best known for writing, producing, and starring the MTV sketch comedy series Human Giant and his role in NBC's Parks and Recreation.
